Manufacturing Engineering Manager

My client is a leading manufacturer of complex industrial products, serving a wide range of industries including automotive, material handling, and food processing. Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage engineering projects to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) objectives.
  • Supervise and mentor Manufacturing Engineers, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and improvement-driven culture.
  • Oversee budgeting, tooling design, implementation, and resource allocation to support efficient production output.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards; partner with Safety and Quality teams to continuously improve programs.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Champion lean manufacturing initiatives, including Kanban, Kaizen, SMED, and 5S.
  • Design and optimize tools and dies in Solid Edge; apply DFM principles to reduce lead times and complexity.
  • Evaluate and improve existing tooling for performance, quality, and tool life; train operators as needed.
  • Develop low-cost automation systems, including control systems, sensors, pneumatics, and PLC integration.
  • Conduct theoretical analysis, simulations, FMEA, and experiments to support manufacturing improvements.
  • Write equipment specifications, qualification plans, and lead installations and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Support ISO/OSHA audits and ensure ongoing compliance with industry standards.
  • Plan and optimize workforce utilization, facility layout, and workflow for maximum productivity.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Manufacturing Engineering Manager will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering required, a Master's degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and GD&T print interpretation
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
