Description

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the New Project Launch Engineers in supporting new product introduction, process optimization, and continuous improvement across production and quality operations. This role oversees capital projects, develops technical standards, and manages a team of engineers and technicians to ensure alignment with customer requirements, operational excellence, and profitability goals.

Client Details

My client supports a manufacturing environment using advanced, high‑precision machining systems for producing complex metal components with extremely tight tolerances. The equipment combines automated, CNC‑controlled processes and specialized material‑removal techniques commonly used in medical device, electronics, aerospace, and other precision industries. The position involves working closely with process development, tooling, and quality teams to ensure reliable, repeatable, and high‑accuracy production.

Description

    • Lead the New Project Launch Engineering department to meet customer demand and achieve profitability objectives.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of new product launches, engineering changes, and process modifications.
    • Evaluate, recommend, and justify capital equipment investments through budget development and payback analysis.
    • Develop and manage implementation plans for new product introductions and launch activities.
    • Review, approve, and create manufacturing work instructions to support production operations.
    • Create and maintain manufacturing routings within the ERP system.
    • Conduct time studies and labor analyses to identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvements.
    • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to develop and implement quality plans.
    • Analyze customer specifications and technical requirements to ensure alignment with internal manufacturing capabilities.
    • Participate in the RFQ process by evaluating technical feasibility and manufacturability.
    • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance, quality, and cost efficiency.

Profile

  • New Product Launch & Project Management Experience

    • Proven experience leading new product introductions, launches, engineering changes, and process implementation projects from concept through production.
  • Manufacturing Engineering Background

    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process improvement, work instructions, routing creation, and production operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Capital Equipment & Investment Planning

    • Experience evaluating, specifying, and implementing capital equipment, including budgeting, cost justification, ROI, and payback analysis.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Expertise

    • Demonstrated success driving Lean initiatives, improving productivity, reducing waste, conducting time studies, and optimizing labor utilization.
  • Cross-Functional Technical Leadership

    • Ability to work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Sales teams to analyze customer specifications, support RFQs, develop quality plans, and ensure manufacturability of new products

Job Offer
