Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Client: Medical Device Manufacturing Company

Duration: 6 Months Contract/ Possible extension

Location: Waltham, MA 02453

Job Summary

Support the Transducer Production Engineering team with product redesign, fixture/tooling development, process improvement, production troubleshooting, and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs). The role combines CAD, manufacturing engineering, documentation, data analysis, and hands-on production support.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain SolidWorks CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
  • Design, procure, and implement production fixtures and tooling.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and basic electrical diagrams.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and workflows.
  • Execute and manage ECNs within the PLM system.
  • Troubleshoot production issues involving tooling, fixtures, test setups, and assembly processes.
  • Analyze manufacturing data using Excel, Power BI, and internal tools.
  • Conduct process audits, time studies, and workflow assessments.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to improve safety, ergonomics, quality, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Product Management, and Operations on design/process changes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or production engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modeling and drawings.
  • Experience with ECNs and PLM systems.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, bonding, and assembly.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working hands-on in a production environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge: 5S, Kaizen, DMAIC.
  • ERP, manufacturing routings, and BOM experience.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
