Manufacturing Engineer
Our client is an established, yet growing manufacturer of industrial & consumer products, with a high-performing site located on the near west side of Chicago. They are truly a leader in their industry/sector, and boast a reputation of high-quality products, tightly run processes, and more importantly a tight-knit culture. Due to exciting growth, they are seeking a skilled and bilingual Manufacturing Engineer to help take this site to the next level.
Job Description
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures, layouts, and process improvements using 3D CAD modeling
- Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, quality, throughput, and equipment reliability
- Support and lead maintenance-related efforts, including equipment upgrades, preventative maintenance initiatives, and downtime reduction
- Improve manufacturing processes through standard work, work instructions, and process documentation
- Support new product introductions by ensuring manufacturability and smooth process transitions
- Analyze production and equipment performance data to identify improvement opportunities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams
- Provide hands-on engineering support on the shop floor as needed
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD software in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience leading continuous improvement projects in production settings
- Background working closely with-or leading-maintenance functions within manufacturing
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, assembly, or automation
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and CI methodologies
- Comfortable balancing design work with hands-on shop-floor execution
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence across teams
- Able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish
What's on Offer
- Base salary $75,000 - $95,000 depending on experience
- 5-10% annual bonus
