Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

You will be the Manufacturing Engineer Senior for the Chelmsford, MA team, responsible for developing and supporting manufacturing processes and procedures for the production of microwave hybrids. Our Chelmsford facility is a leading hub for innovation in microelectronics, supporting critical aerospace and defense programs that safeguard national security and advance the industry.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Manufacturing Engineer Senior, you will have an understanding of all assembly techniques and materials used to produce microwave hybrids, including substrate and die epoxy attach, wire bonding, seal, hermeticity testing, and J-STD-001 solder assembly. You will design the sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tooling and other functions that affect product performance, inspect the performance of machinery and equipment, and investigate hardware failures to ensure product quality.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and supporting manufacturing processes and procedures for the production of microwave hybrids
• Understanding and applying various assembly techniques, including substrate and die epoxy attach, wire bonding, seal, hermeticity testing, and J-STD-001 solder assembly
• Inspecting the performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency
• Investigating hardware failures and initiating corrective action to ensure product quality
• Ensuring processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
• Leading continuous‑improvement initiatives by evaluating, qualifying, and integrating new technologies (including automation, robotics, and Computer‑Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software) to boost productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality
• Leveraging analytics and statistical process control (SPC) to drive data‑informed decision‑making and identify process bottlenecks or system inefficiencies
• This Weekend Shift position is aligned to a 4X10 schedule (Thursday - Sunday) and typical hours are approximately 6:00am-4:30pm. Ability to support working earlier or later hours may be required.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in an Engineering related field and 5 years of professional experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and must have the ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance prior to start, which requires U.S. citizenship
• Must have an outstanding work ethic, excellent teaming skills, and ability to multi-task with multiple projects and job tasks
• Must be self-motivated, customer-focused, proactive, and able to professionally support and quickly adapt to changes in program or customer requirements
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with management, customers and peers
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to work overtime if needed to support special projects

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00
