Savannah GA*
Contract - 1st Shift, 5/40
Pay Rate:  $42.34/hr
Domestic travel required
 *There will be a 2-week training class in Foley AL, but the worksite is in Savannah GA. 

 Required Qualifications:  Manufacturing Engineer
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience in a manufacturing environment or an Advanced Degree in a related field (STEM)
  • Prior experience interpretating specifications and engineering drawings/models
  • Prior experience adapting machine and equipment designs to meet specific factory and production requirements.
  • Experience with continuous improvement events
Position Summary:  Manufacturing Engineer Our client is looking for Manufacturing Engineer II to support the delivery of Gulfstream G400 aircraft technology. In this role, you will optimize the performance of a wide range of tasks to facilitate assembly operations, production and business unit objectives. This will include designing and arranging machines, tooling, and sequence of operations and making sure that mandatory modifications are incorporated to ensure configuration compliance and to improve efficiency. 
  • Ensure the sequence of the manufacturing process and product builds are followed and comply with EH&S and Quality requirements.
  • Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control to ensure compliance and effective production.
  •  Propose the sequence of operations and installations and specific procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other processes, which may include disassembly/assembly and repairs, to ensure efficiency and optimize performance.
  • Owns the design and arrangement of tooling and machines of the manufacturing process (layout)
  • Improve manufacturing processes/ products to achieve productivity by working with design engineers.  
  • Implement process upgrades by applying various engineering applications such as robotics, automation and shop floor corrective action/countermeasures
  • Identify opportunities on drawings and specs to influence changes to engineering designs and line balancing,
  • Participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and reduce build times and program costs during fabrication.
  • Uses data analytics / SPC for productivity, First Pass Yield and OEE targets and improvement.
  • Drive problem solving initiatives & challenge status QUO (C/A Investigations, OEE, FPY, Customer escapes)
  • Participates and contributes on PFMEA and Control Plans
  • Owns creation and maintains manufacturing process documents (routings, BOM, Visual aids, Std work, etc).
  • Participate on digital manufacturing solutions with support from Digital subject matter experts
Preferred Skills:  Manufacturing Engineer
  • Experience in robotics and automation.
  • Experience in Six Sigma/Red X.
  • Understanding of Project Management methods.
