Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Norfolk, VA 23502
Duration: 6months
Max PR: $52/hr
Description:
- Creates, maintains, and optimizes manufacturing routers within an ERP system (Costpoint or similar).
- Develops, implements, and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and processes for efficiencies.
- Defines, develops, and maintains manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies, and systems. Actively participates with engineering project teams in order to coordinate the release of new products and support the sustainment of existing products.
- Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
- Maintains records, metrics, and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
- Creates manufacturing work instructions.
Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of the job area and practical knowledge of production planning.
Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
