Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency. Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities, reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance equipment performance. Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and visual management systems. Design and introduce fixtures, tooling, and process aids to improve consistency, ergonomics, and operational performance. Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new product introductions, including process development and production planning. Partner with engineering, tooling, and quality teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and meet customer requirements. Support production launches, product transfers, sampling activities, and bill of materials reviews. Collaborate with quality teams on root cause investigations, corrective actions, and process improvements. Work with maintenance, tooling, supply chain, and external partners to enhance operational performance and reliability. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, efficiency gains, process stability, and cost savings. Support KPI tracking, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across manufacturing operations. Troubleshoot production issues, participate in design reviews, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. Approximately 3 to 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience. Background in plastics manufacturing, with injection molding experience preferred. Experience with process development, tooling, troubleshooting, and production support. Proficiency with CAD software and engineering drawings. Familiarity with automation technologies, robotics, or collaborative robots is highly desirable. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience utilizing ERP/MES systems and data analysis tools. Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects through completion in a fast-paced environment.
