The Manufacturing Engineer is a precision-oriented professional with the ability to work as a team player efficiently. The primary function of this role is to assist with the conception, design and development of product and manufacturing processes and equipment. This will be accomplished while continuously improving the ongoing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. This individual will serve as liaison between New Product Development, Quality, Project Management, and Manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and develop manufacturing processes by conducting research of products and customer requirements; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; as well as soliciting input and observing operators.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
- Work with NPD and Project Management to complete design and development projects by validating processes to enable training and guiding technicians and operators.
- Create training documentation to processes and assist with training activities of operators
- Develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities collaboratively with the Manufacturing Team
- Support the development and maintenance work instructions, flow charts, procedures, routings, product labels

- Play a major role in implementing Lean Manufacturing within the plant

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical field, 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing engineering fundamentals – engineering drawing and specification interpretation, tool and fixture design, gauge design, equipment design, and process design
- Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality
- Ability to easily work with people at all levels of the organization, and to establish collaborative relationship with peers.
- Excellent problem solving and process troubleshooting capability; knowledge of root cause analysis techniques with ability to troubleshoot and analytically solve problems
- Proficient with MS Office Programs and ERP/MRP system experience required.

Target Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000 salary a year. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
