Manufacturing Engineer

Role Overview

Supports manufacturing engineering execution across the product lifecycle by developing processes, supporting NPI activities, improving production readiness, and resolving manufacturing challenges. Applies engineering principles to improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and production performance.

• Support manufacturing strategy and execution activities for assigned products or components 

• Develop manufacturing processes, workflows, and production requirements 

• Support DFM/DFA reviews with Design Engineering teams 

• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including process flows, work instructions, and technical standards 

• Support NPI activities from prototype builds through production transition 

• Assist with manufacturing risk assessments and mitigation activities 

• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing issues 

• Partner with operations, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to improve production execution 

• Support tooling concepts, process improvements, and manufacturing readiness activities 

• Analyze manufacturing performance metrics including yield, cycle time, and process capability 

• Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles 

• Participate in program reviews, milestone activities, and manufacturing readiness assessments

You have...

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field required

Experience

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience 

• Experience supporting manufacturing engineering activities or production environments 

• Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, welding, additive manufacturing, or fabrication 

• Experience creating manufacturing documentation preferred 

• Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams preferred

• Understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems 

• Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and identify solutions 

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications 

• Strong organizational and project management skills 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills 

• Ability to support continuous improvement initiatives

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice to have...

• Experience supporting aerospace, defense, propulsion, turbomachinery, or complex mechanical systems 

• Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) activities 

• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles 

• Experience with machining, assembly, welding, additive manufacturing, or post-processing operations 

• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation 

• Familiarity with APQP, PFMEA, control plans, SPC, or Lean Manufacturing methodologies 

• Experience using CAD systems such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Teamcenter, or similar platforms

• Experience supporting prototype builds or production ramp activities
