Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are achieved. This role supports new product launches, continuous improvement initiatives, and production efficiency in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and improve manufacturing processes for automotive components and assemblies

Lead process design, line layout, tooling selection, and equipment specification

Support new product launches including APQP, PPAP, and production readiness

Conduct time studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis

Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies

Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.)

Improve OEE, scrap reduction, and cycle time efficiency

Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to ensure process stability

Create and maintain work instructions, PFMEA, control plans, and process documentation

Ensure compliance with safety, ISO, and IATF 16949 standards

Manage capital projects and vendor coordination as required

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field

Experience:

3–7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in automotive or high-volume production

Experience with automated assembly, machining, stamping, welding, or injection molding (depending on environment)

Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and control plans

Experience in Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives

Technical Skills

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)

Knowledge of PLCs and automated systems (preferred)

Experience with robotics (Fanuc, ABB, etc.) is a plus

Understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading

Data analysis skills (Excel, Minitab, or similar)
