Description
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer II
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Manufacturing Engineer II with our client located in Louisville, CO.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues
Drive continuous improvement and reliability across manufacturing operations
Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and resolve technical issues
Assist in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
Standardize operations and maintain quality through documented processes
Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings to support manufacturing activities
Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
Job Qualifications:
Requires Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or physics (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
Typically 2+ years of related experience.
Solid understanding of manufacturing principles and practices, engineering techniques and methodologies.
Proficiency in CAD software (ex: NX).
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience in process improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience in conducting process validation and verification tasks.
Basic knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
Proficiency reading technical manuals and schematics.
Knowledge of equipment calibration and testing procedures.
Nice To Haves:
Advanced degree in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline.
Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proven track record in a space or aerospace manufacturing setting.
In-depth understanding of spacecraft subsystems, including structures, mechanisms, avionics, propulsion, and high-pressure systems.
Demonstrated ability to create and implement processes from the ground up, with strong communication skills to engage a diverse team.
Successful introduction of new aerospace hardware systems into manufacturing, testing, and production environments.
Experience in implementing AS9100 quality standards.
Proficiency in onboarding MES, PLM, and ERP systems.
