Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer I
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Location: Davenport, IA 52809
Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)
Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (Some Flexibility)
Description:
Job Summary
· Entry-level Manufacturing Engineer supporting shop floor operations, assembly, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
· Work with production teams to improve safety, quality, productivity, and material flow.
· Recent engineering graduates are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide hands-on shop floor support for assembly operations.
· Troubleshoot production, quality, tooling, and material issues.
· Analyze data and support recurring manufacturing tasks.
· Develop routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, and labor standards.
· Support Lean Manufacturing / Deere Production System initiatives.
· Improve material flow, workplace layouts, safety, quality, and ergonomics.
· Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects.
· Assist with fixture/tooling design and work order creation.
· Implement new manufacturing processes and technologies.
· Support capacity, productivity, efficiency, and energy studies.
· Modify and support performance pay plans.
· Use SAP, Microsoft Office, and MP Planner for manufacturing activities.
· Collaborate with production teams to implement process improvements.
Qualifications
· Engineering degree preferred.
· Recent graduates and entry-level engineers are encouraged to apply.
· Relevant manufacturing or production experience may be considered.
· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Self-motivated and able to work independently.
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing/shop floor environment.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment
· Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
· Hands-on shop floor position.
· Metatarsal footwear required.
· Other required PPE will be provided.
