Description

A growing OEM manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support CNC programming, process development, and production improvements within a job shop environment. This role will work primarily with plastic and composite materials and will partner closely with operations to develop efficient, repeatable manufacturing methods.

Location: Hampshire, IL 60140

Salary: Up to $85,000 annually

Key Responsibilities
  • Create CNC programs for mills and lathes using Mastercam.
  • Develop router programs; waterjet programming experience is highly preferred.
  • Create manufacturing methods, routings, setup sheets, bills of material, and related production documentation in Epicor ERP.
  • Develop fixturing, detailed drawings, inspection requirements, and CNC setup instructions.
  • Analyze machining processes, including feeds, speeds, and cycle times, to improve quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Support new part introduction by preparing routing and cost estimate information across multiple machining centers.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for existing production parts.
  • Train and support manufacturing personnel on CNC machining and setup best practices.
  • Balance multiple priorities while meeting production and project deadlines.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a CNC manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Hands-on Mastercam programming experience for both mills and lathes required.
  • SolidWorks or comparable CAD modeling experience.
  • Experience with Epicor or another ERP system.
  • Familiarity with Haas VMCs, Haas and Okuma lathes, Haas routers, and Omax waterjet equipment.
  • Experience working with plastics, thermoplastics, thermosets, or composite materials is preferred; candidates with a metal machining background are welcome to apply.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
  • Strong technical, analytical, planning, and communication skills.
