Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Gurnee, IL
Hire Type: Direct Hire, Onsite
Target Salary: $77,500 – $82,500/year
Work Schedule: 7:00AM–3:30PM, Monday-Friday
 
Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide hands-on engineering and technical support for manufacturing and assembly processes, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity. This role will support process development, equipment and automation integration, production layouts, continuous improvement, and troubleshooting.
 
Must Have Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 2–3 years of manufacturing experience
  • 1+ year supporting or installing manufacturing processes
  • 1+ year of experience with manufacturing automation equipment
  • AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks experience
  • Understanding of manufacturing metrics and process improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
 
Job Duties:
  • Provide engineering and technical support for manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, production flow, equipment, tooling, and layouts
  • Support installation and integration of manufacturing and automation equipment
  • Analyze processes to improve efficiency, quality, throughput, and cost
  • Identify root causes of downtime, defects, and process inefficiencies
  • Lead or support continuous improvement and corrective action projects
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve productivity
  • Develop and maintain equipment layouts, work instructions, and production procedures
  • Support PFMEA, process flow charts, control plans, and other quality tools
  • Work with Production, Quality, Operations, and vendors to resolve issues
  • Support projects from concept through implementation
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve processes, equipment, and operating standards
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline required
  • 2–3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, automation, equipment installation, or process improvement
  • AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks experience
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing metrics and data analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • Spanish language skills are a plus
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification is a plus
  • Willingness to travel minimally (up to 10%)
