Job DetailsJob Details:
As a Permanent Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in our dynamic and innovative manufacturing team. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. You will also interface with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products and conduct product update programs as required. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in Solidworks, 3D CAD Design, Process Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and AutoCAD in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Communicate with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies to optimize production efficiency and quality.
- Utilize Solidworks, 3D CAD Design, and AutoCAD to design and optimize production processes and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- Proficiency in Solidworks, 3D CAD Design, Process Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of production and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes.
- Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills.
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
- Strong team player who can work across multiple functions and disciplines.
- Willingness to be on call, work on shift, and outside of regular hours as needed.
