CNC Manufacturing Engineer
My client is an AS9100-certified precision manufacturing organization specializing in complex machining and fabrication for aerospace and defense applications. The company is recognized for delivering high-quality, mission-critical components in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Job Description
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for complex machined components
- Create, prove out, and refine machining processes independently
- Design manufacturing plans to maximize efficiency and quality
- Select tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions
- Reduce setup times and improve cycle time performance
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, quality, and process issues
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
- Support new product introduction and process validation activities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet customer and industry requirements
- Provide technical support for production and operational challenges

The Successful Applicant
A successful CNC Manufacturing Engineer should have:
- 7+ years of CNC programming experience in precision machining
- Proven ability to create and optimize complex CNC programs
- Strong manufacturing process development experience
- Expertise in tooling selection, workholding, and process planning
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
- Knowledge of machining principles and cutting tool applications
- Experience with process validation and continuous improvement
- Ability to solve manufacturing challenges with minimal supervision
- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
- Aerospace, defense, medical device, or high-precision manufacturing experience preferred
- Multi-axis machining experience including 4-axis and 5-axis programming preferred
