CNC Manufacturing Engineer

My client is an AS9100-certified precision manufacturing organization specializing in complex machining and fabrication for aerospace and defense applications. The company is recognized for delivering high-quality, mission-critical components in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Job Description

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for complex machined components
  • Create, prove out, and refine machining processes independently
  • Design manufacturing plans to maximize efficiency and quality
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions
  • Reduce setup times and improve cycle time performance
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, quality, and process issues
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
  • Support new product introduction and process validation activities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet customer and industry requirements
  • Provide technical support for production and operational challenges

The Successful Applicant

A successful CNC Manufacturing Engineer should have:

  • 7+ years of CNC programming experience in precision machining
  • Proven ability to create and optimize complex CNC programs
  • Strong manufacturing process development experience
  • Expertise in tooling selection, workholding, and process planning
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
  • Knowledge of machining principles and cutting tool applications
  • Experience with process validation and continuous improvement
  • Ability to solve manufacturing challenges with minimal supervision
  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Aerospace, defense, medical device, or high-precision manufacturing experience preferred
  • Multi-axis machining experience including 4-axis and 5-axis programming preferred
