Description

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer with strong experience in machining and manufacturing processes, preferably involving barrels, cylinders, hydraulic components, or other precision-machined parts. The Manufacturing Engineer will support production operations by improving machining processes, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, reducing cycle times, improving quality, and supporting new product/process introductions.

Job Responsibilities

Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes for barrel and precision component machining.
Support CNC machining operations including turning, milling, boring, drilling, honing, grinding, and related finishing processes.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, dimensional, scrap, and production issues on the shop floor.
Develop and optimize process parameters, tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and manufacturing routings.
Improve cycle time, productivity, quality, cost, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing and quality problems.
Work closely with operators, maintenance, quality, design engineering, and production teams.
Review engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications.
Support CNC equipment, tooling selection, fixture design, and process capability improvements.
Lead or participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous-improvement projects.
Support PFMEA, Control Plans, standard work, and process documentation.
Analyze production data, scrap, downtime, and quality trends to identify improvement opportunities.
Support equipment installation, qualification, process validation, and new-product launches.
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable safety and quality requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience working in a machining/manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of CNC machining and precision manufacturing processes.
Experience troubleshooting machining processes and resolving production issues.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and dimensional tolerances.
Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, feeds and speeds, and machining optimization.
Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with production operators and cross-functional engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with hydraulic cylinders, barrels, actuators, or similar precision-machined components.
Experience with honing, boring, turning, grinding, or deep-hole machining.
Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, Haas, or similar CNC equipment/controls.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM and CNC programming is a plus.
Experience in an automotive, aerospace, hydraulic, or high-volume precision manufacturing environment is preferred.
