    About the Role

    Reporting to the Controller, this role steps beyond traditional bookkeeping. You will partner closely with the Controller and CFO to support financial reporting, improve processes, enhance systems, and contribute to special projects that shape the business.     A Day in the Life

    • Kick off with month-end activities: prepare journal entries and accruals; complete close tasks with accuracy and speed.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and research any discrepancies until the story behind the numbers is clear.
    • Analyze production and inventory data to understand unit costs and identify trends or anomalies.
    • Join ERP enhancement and automation efforts; refine AP/AR workflows; document and strengthen internal controls.
    • Roll forward the budget and forecast, assist with cash flow projections, and prepare decision-ready analyses for leaders.
    • Coordinate with external auditors and help maintain compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.
    • Collaborate across departments and translate financial insights for both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

    Core Responsibilities

    • General Accounting & Financial Reporting: prepare and post journal entries and accruals; complete monthly close; perform account reconciliations; assist in monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and management packs.
    • Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Support: support inventory accounting; analyze production and operational costs; assist with inventory reconciliations and physical counts.
    • Process Improvement & Systems: streamline AP/AR and related processes; participate in ERP upgrades and automation; document and enhance procedures and internal controls.
    • Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis: assist with annual plans and periodic forecasts; support cash flow forecasting and liquidity management; deliver analysis that informs decisions.
    • Audit & Compliance: support annual audit requests; uphold accounting standards, policies, and controls; maintain accurate records and documentation.
    • Collaboration & Special Projects: partner with cross-functional teams; clearly communicate financial information; contribute to strategic initiatives from the Controller and CFO.

    Qualifications

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
    • Strong grasp of GAAP and financial reporting.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
    • Analytical, organized, and adept at problem solving.
    • Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

    Preferred

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
    • Background in cost and inventory accounting.
    • Experience in a manufacturing setting.
    • Familiarity with IQMS/DELMIAWorks or similar manufacturing ERP.
    • Continuous improvement orientation and exposure to automation initiatives.
