Position Summary
Steel & Spark is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and results-driven Inventory Manager to oversee the end-to-end flow of materials, inventory, and supplier relationships. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of materials, maintaining optimal inventory levels, improving operational efficiency, and supporting production and customer fulfillment through effective supply chain management.
The ideal candidate has strong inventory management experience, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to optimize supply chain processes in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily inventory operations, including receiving, storage, transfers, and shipping.
Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory.
Coordinate with purchasing, production, sales, and warehouse teams to maintain material availability.
Track steel products, raw materials, and finished goods throughout the supply chain.
Utilize Spark ERP/software to manage inventory transactions, reporting, and data accuracy.
Analyze inventory trends and prepare reports on inventory performance, turnover, and stock levels.
Develop and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
3–5+ years of inventory management experience in manufacturing, steel distribution, or a related industrial environment.
Working knowledge of steel products and steel supply chain operations.
Experience using Spark ERP/software or similar inventory management systems.
Strong understanding of inventory control methods, cycle counting, and warehouse operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with demand planning and inventory forecasting.
Knowledge of purchasing, logistics, and warehouse management.
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
Forklift certification is a plus (if applicable).
