    Manufacturing Chemical Process Operator II

    2nd shift- Mon/Fri, 3pm - 11pm

    Job Purpose:

    • Operates gas heated atmosphere, hardening, and tempering furnaces for the heat treating of a wide variety of products. Receives and stores a variety of forgings and enters them into system. Conducts final inspection of products.
    • Accountable for operating automatic and/or manual equipment to process batches of bulk materials/ingredients in accordance with operating procedures including
    • Operating chemical or mechanical batch process equipment (e.g., mixers, grinders, filter presses, dryers, filtering equipment, furnaces, coolers, pressure chambers, chemical reaction tanks, etc.)
    • Performing quality control analyses as required to complete in-process batches and identifying variations from standards
    • Participating in training for hazardous material handling and emergency procedures.

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • Must have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma;
    • Completion of basic math, blueprint reading and gauge-reading training; and,
    • Ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers
    • A forklift operators license
    • Confined space certification
    • Basic Computer Skills

    Key Job Acountabilities:

    • Perform pre-operation checks for machines. Perform safety inspections required for individual machines and associated equipment. (i.e., furnaces, grinder)
    • Heat treats and tempers various metal products and parts.
    • Monitors Heat Treat furnace safety and operating instruments and control panels.
    • Perform grinding, blasting, dipping, labeling, reporting, packing, clipping operations as needed to support production
    • Perform Magnaflux and Rockwell tests as required.
    • Operate a fork lift to transport materials from inside and outside the plant to and from work stations and storage areas.
    • Receives and stores incoming components, track, handle, and inspect out source heat treating.
    • Inspect finished tools visually and with the use of gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc.
