Summary
The Manufacturing Associate is responsible for performing semi-routine manufacturing activities in a GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical environment. The position spends approximately 90% of the time in manufacturing suites and involves following work instructions, maintaining accurate inventory and batch records, inspecting finished products, supporting batch reconciliation and preventative maintenance, and adhering to quality, safety, and cleanroom requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Execute work instructions and apply job skills to complete assigned tasks.
  • Complete required training and assist in training other staff.
  • Perform semi-routine assignments and learn new manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and batch records.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Assist with batch record reconciliation.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities.
  • Follow Quality Management Systems and support Nonconformance/CAPA closures.
  • Identify and communicate issues requiring escalation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow company policies related to safety, training, GDP, and cleanroom gowning.
  • Perform work primarily in manufacturing suites.
  • Safely perform activities to prevent product releases, accidents, and injuries.
  • Perform aseptic and/or sterile gowning as required.
  • Work with manufacturing documentation and complete required records accurately.
  • Use computers and manufacturing software on a daily basis.
  • Follow PPE and environmental safety requirements when working with dry ice, liquid nitrogen, hazardous materials, or infectious agents.
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing, operations, production, laboratory, or a related field.
  • cGMP experience preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, principles, and processes.
  • Strong understanding of GMP and safety standards.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and GMP documentation.
  • Ability to maintain accurate batch records and operational documentation.
  • Ability to learn new software and technical tools.
  • Ability to make decisions during moderately complex GMP manufacturing activities with minimal to moderate supervision.
  • Ability to recognize situations requiring further evaluation and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform aseptic/sterile gowning.
  • Ability to work safely with PPE and in controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read, write, and review documentation for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with dry ice, liquid nitrogen/cryogenics, hazardous materials, and infectious agents as required.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and meet the physical requirements of the manufacturing environment.
