Build parts that keep railroads moving
Do you take satisfaction in seeing a clean blueprint become a finished, within‑tolerance part? As a Manual Mill Technician in our Richmond, IL facility, you’ll be a key contributor to specialty trackwork production at Atlantic Track & Turnout Co., an employee‑owned industry leader for over six decades.
Is this you?
- Can you set up and run manual milling machines and fine‑tune offsets for accuracy?
- Do you know how to assemble milling cutters, index inserts, and choose tooling wisely?
- Are you comfortable using an overhead crane to load/unload parts safely?
- Do you enjoy verifying dimensions with measuring tools and completing quality paperwork?
- Are you organized, safety‑minded, and eager to help teammates solve tooling or machine issues?
When you’ll work
Train first on 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm). Then move to your home schedule on 2nd shift (Monday–Thursday, 3:00pm–1:30am). Overtime may be requested.
What you need to succeed
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years of machining experience.
- Fluency in feeds, speeds, and chip load; solid tooling/machining fundamentals.
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings.
- On‑site presence in Richmond, Illinois.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and a positive shop attitude.
Bonus points
- Any exposure to FANUC CNC controls.
- Prior industrial milling experience.
