Our Client is an expert fabrication and welding service provider based in Wilson NC. They are looking for a Manual Machinist to join the team and assist with equipment operations for the machining department.
Job Responsibilities -
- Operate and maintain manual machine tools: lathes, mills, grinders, saws, etc.
- Set up machines with proper feeds and speeds based on materials
- Interpret blueprints, AutoCAD drawings, and verbal instructions
- Assemble machined components to final specifications
- Follow safety procedures and obtain supervisor approval before machining
- Communicate equipment issues and participate in maintenance when needed
Job Requirements-
- Must provide and accurately use measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Must have setup tools including parallels, clamps, wrenches, test indicators
- Ownership of a machinist handbook is required
- Solid knowledge of metallurgy and appropriate tool selection
Strong math, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills
Ability to detect mechanical issues and maintain machine cleanliness
Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime and during emergency jobs
CNC experience is a plus
