Job Title: Manual Machinist
Location: 1500 Bishop Court-Mount Prospect, IL 60056
Duration: 3 Months
Pay Rate: $25-27/hr on W2 (Including all the benefits)
Shift: M-F / 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM OR 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Summary:
Set-up and operate manual machines within established standards, in regards to time to cut, shape, or form metal workpieces.
Key Responsibilities:
Reviews specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished workpiece.
Performs necessary adjustments, attachments and assemblies according to setup instructions.
Assembles cutting tools in toolholders and positions toolholders in machine spindles as specified or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines.
Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
Measures workpiece for conformance to specifications and notifies quality control of discrepancies.
Adjusts machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.
Machines materials other than metal such as composites, plastic, and rubber.
May be needed to assist in training of new or temporary employees.
Requirements for Consideration:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; two year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal
Must possess basic math skills, understanding of geometry and basic algebra.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
