Description
Accentuate Staffing is assisting a leading manufacturer of automated equipment in hiring a Manual Machinist to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity offering excellent benefits, 1st shift hours, and a Monday–Friday schedule.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on prototype, model shop, or custom machining experience and be comfortable taking a concept, sketch, or print and independently creating one-off parts, fixtures, and components.
Job Responsibilities
Independently fabricate one-off parts, fixtures, and components from concepts, sketches, drawings, or blueprints
Set up and operate manual mills and manual engine lathes to produce custom parts
Perform hands-on machining, fabrication, modification, and repair of equipment and machine components
Perform surface plate and layout work to accurately plan and prepare parts for machining
Complete precision bench work, including fitting, finishing, deburring, and hand work as needed
Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and geometric tolerances
Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, dial indicators, depth gauges, and other inspection tools
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet required quality and dimensional specifications
Utilize CNC mills and/or lathes, including conversational programming, as needed
Assist with equipment maintenance, repairs, and modifications
Work independently on custom machining projects while collaborating with the team on larger projects
Qualifications
Recent trade school graduate with strong hands-on machining experience OR 2–3+ years of experience in a machine shop, prototype shop, model shop, or similar environment
Demonstrated ability to take a concept, sketch, or print and independently fabricate a one-off part or fixture
Hands-on experience operating manual mills and manual engine lathes
Experience with surface plate/layout work and precision bench work
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and geometric tolerances
Experience using precision measuring equipment
Familiarity with CNC mills and/or lathes and conversational programming
Strong understanding of machining practices, mechanics, and basic mathematics
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
