OPPORTUNITY
The Managing Director of Talent Acquisition is responsible for developing and executing a robust and customer-service-oriented talent recruitment strategy to attract, select, and hire top talent. They are focused on nurturing a rich and diverse talent pipeline, ensuring that BPS can recruit highly effective, diverse educators and staff and ultimately ensuring that BPS is fully staffed each year.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads the development, integration and/or alignment of talent acquisition programs and systems, including but not limited to hiring, selection and onboarding
- Leads the talent acquisition team, setting goals and priorities in alignment with overall direction while removing barriers to performance and holding the team accountable.
- Develops and communicates long-term and short-term recruitment strategies
- Develops a recruiting strategy for early talent programs by establishing partnerships with organizations and educational institutions as sources of talent
- Support, execute, and refine strategic national and local outreach, including but not limited to partnerships with transition to teaching programs, local universities, and partner organizations
- Develop and execute internal and external talent recruitment events, including happy hours, school tours, hiring fairs, information sessions at colleges/universities, etc.
- Lead the network's signing bonus and referral bonus programs, including developing, investing staff and following through with referral engagement
- Develop strong relationships with school leadership teams to collaborate and ensure a seamless and inclusive talent acquisition process
- Invest significant time to deeply understanding each department and school's priorities and challenges, understanding each team's systems and structures, and building strong relationships with staff members
- Provide input on staffing plans, including shifting roles, succession planning, and management structures
- Build deep relationships with home office and school leaders, acting as a strategic advisor to them and problem-solving issues as they arise
- Ensures standardized recruiting processes, interviews, and documentation comply with legal requirements and guidelines
- Partners with other departments to create and coordinate marketing strategies including social media, advertising materials and activities that promote Breakthrough Public Schools
- Proactively enhances recruitment technology solutions to optimize the hiring process. recruitment
- Provides training and education to internal stakeholders on the recruiting process, interviewing techniques and effective networking strategies
- Establishes and monitors appropriate metrics and key performance indicators related to recruitment, lead generation, cultivation and selection
- Works with leadership to set budget and carries out related budgetary responsibilities
- Researches, selects and maintains relationships with vendors and consultants
- Find opportunities to improve the recruitment experience through automation, process improvement and collaboration

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor''s degree in Human Resources or related field required; Masters preferred
- 6+ years of talent acquisition experience required
- 3+ years of team leadership experience required
- Experience with applicant tracking, recruiting, and/or onboarding software required
- Full-cycle recruitment experience required
- Experience managing diversity and early talent recruitment programs highly desired
- Experience recruiting in an education environment strongly preferred
- SHRM-CP/SCP or HRCI PHR/SPHR strongly preferred.
- Proficient in the knowledge and use of technical computer applications, including Google Suite
