    BAO Consulting Group is seeking an elite Managing Director to serve as a founding member of our Accounting Advisory leadership team. This is an opportunity for an extraordinary professional who has the credibility, network, and ambition to build and lead a high-growth practice inside one of the most dynamic boutique advisory firms in the country.     What you'll do

    • Serve as a named senior leader and market-facing executive of BAO's Accounting Advisory practice
    • Build, develop, and own a significant book of business across middle-market, PE-backed, and emerging growth clients
    • Set the strategic direction of the Accounting Advisory service line, including new offerings, industry verticals, and market positioning
    • Personally lead and oversee the most complex and high-value client engagements
    • Serve as a thought leader and public representative of BAO: publish, speak, and network at the highest levels
    • Partner with the President, Co-Founders, and CGO to shape firm-wide strategy, culture, and operational priorities
    • Own the full practice P&L: revenue targets, margin, utilization, headcount planning, and investment decisions
    • Lead executive-level recruiting; attract top talent from Big 4, national firms, and industry
    • Develop and institutionalize BAO's proprietary frameworks, scoring tools, and engagement methodologies

    Qualifications

    • CPA required; advanced degree strongly preferred
    • 16+ years of experience with significant tenure in a Big 4 or top-tier advisory firm at a senior level (Director, Partner, or equivalent)
    • Established book of business or credible path to a book of business of $2M+ in Year 1–2
    • Deep expertise across the full accounting advisory spectrum including technical accounting, financial reporting, M&A, and transformation
    • A reputation as a trusted advisor to CFOs, CEOs, audit committees, and PE sponsors
    • Exceptional leadership credentials: track record of building teams, developing talent, and driving culture

    Preferred qualifications

    • Former Big 4 Partner or Managing Director at a firm such as Riveron, Accordion, Embark, or Cross Country Consulting
    • Substantial equity-backed portfolio company experience; strong PE sponsor relationships in Texas or nationally
    • Entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine desire to be a builder, not just an operator
