Primary Responsibilities & Attitude

As a Managing Director in Corporate Trust focused on DTC operations, you will play a key role within the Corporate Trust team. You will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and confident working both independently and collaboratively. You’re excited about being part of a fast-paced, growing company.

Primary Responsibilities:

Team leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Operations Specialists; set goals, run performance reviews and contribute to hiring.
  • Plan daily workload and coverage so every DTC deadline is met, including peak payment and redemption dates.
  • Build cross-training so no DTC process depends on one person.

DTC operations oversight

  • Own end-to-end DTC processing: new issue eligibility, FAST agent balances, DWAC/DRS, payments, and mandatory and voluntary corporate actions.
  • Act as final reviewer on complex or high-value events: partial (lottery) redemptions, exchange and tender offers through ATOP, defaults and restructurings.
  • Be the primary relationship contact with DTC and escalation point for participants, issuers, underwriters and counsel.
  • Approve onboarding of new DTC-eligible appointments and confirm operational readiness before closing.

Controls, Risk and Compliance

  • Own the DTC control framework: daily FAST-to-register reconciliation, payment controls, maker–checker and exception sign-off.
  • Track and report breaks, aged items, errors and missed deadlines; lead root-cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Lead audit, SOC 1 and regulatory exam responses for the DTC function.
  • Keep procedures current with DTC rule and service changes.

Process Improvement and Reporting

  • Find and deliver automation of reconciliations, payment calculations and DTC announcements.
  • Report team KPIs to the Director monthly: volumes, timeliness, breaks and error rates.
  • Represent DTC operations on new products, systems, and client onboarding projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years in corporate trust, transfer agency or securities operations, including 3+ years processing directly with DTC.
  • 2+ years leading or supervising an operations team.
  • Expert knowledge of DTC eligibility, FAST agent processes, DWAC/DRS, DTC payments and corporate action processing.
  • Hands-on use of DTC systems (Participant Portal/PBS, LENS, ATOP, CA Web).
  • Track record of designing and running operational controls and managing audits or regulatory exams.
  • Sound judgment under same-day deadlines and the ability to explain issues clearly to senior management, clients and counsel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience standing up or scaling a DTC or FAST agent function.
  • Exchange or tender agent experience on debt or equity reorganizations, including defaults and restructurings.
  • Exposure to MMI issuing and paying agent processing.
  • Experience with municipal, CLO, ABS or private credit transactions.
  • CCTS (Certified Corporate Trust Specialist) or equivalent industry designation.
  • Experience leading automation or system implementation projects.
