Trueline is seeking a Managing Attorney for an established, growing estate planning and elder law firm. This is an opportunity to lead attorneys and legal support teams, improve how the practice operates, and maintain high standards of client care across multiple offices.

Approximately 80% of your time will focus on leadership and management, with 20% devoted to client meetings. You'll coach attorneys, oversee legal quality, strengthen workflows, and help the firm grow while staying involved in meaningful work with families.

Your home office may be in Dublin, Lancaster, or St. Clairsville, Ohio, or the new Parkersburg, West Virginia office, with monthly travel among all four locations. This is an office-based position.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise, coach, and develop attorneys, paralegals, and Medicaid/public benefits support staff.
  • Oversee estate planning, trusts, probate, estate administration, and elder law matters.
  • Review legal work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with firm standards.
  • Manage workloads, monitor deadlines, and address issues affecting legal quality or client service.
  • Train attorneys and observe client meetings to strengthen consultations and communication.
  • Lead selected consultations and help attorneys clearly explain planning recommendations, services, and fees.
  • Improve processes across drafting, trust funding, public benefits, and client service teams.
  • Partner with the founding attorney on legal matters and the CEO on operations, staffing, and growth.
  • Travel monthly among offices and provide occasional support for urgent matters outside regular hours.

What You'll Bring

  • A JD and an active Ohio or West Virginia law license in good standing.
  • Admission in both states, or the ability to obtain the second admission within six months, subject to eligibility and processing timelines.
  • Substantial estate planning and elder law experience, including trusts, probate, estate administration, and familiarity with Medicaid planning.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for supervising attorneys and legal support staff.
  • Experience reviewing legal work, managing deadlines, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Strong client counseling skills, including confidence discussing services and fees.
  • A practical, collaborative approach to improving team performance and workflows.
  • Willingness to work onsite and travel among offices monthly.

Practice leaders, supervising attorneys, and firm owners with relevant estate planning experience and team leadership responsibilities are encouraged to apply. Experience managing across multiple offices is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Approximately $150,000 base salary, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
  • Quarterly performance bonus with a $50,000 annual target, bringing target annual compensation to approximately $200,000. Bonuses depend on performance and are not guaranteed.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage. Medical coverage begins on the first of the month after completing 60 days of employment.
  • Employer-paid vision coverage and life insurance, plus optional supplemental benefits.
  • 401(k) with an employer match of up to 4%, subject to contribution requirements and plan terms.
  • 15 days of PTO, prorated in the first year and subject to the introductory period, plus 40 hours of paid volunteer time.
  • Complimentary estate planning for employees and discounted services for family members.

Why This Role
