West Monroe is seeking a Manager with prior experience in technology Mergers & Acquisitions and a passion for advising Private Equity and Corporate Strategic clients to join our national Mergers & Acquisitions practice. Our team serves an array of leading Private Equity firms and strategic acquirers across the Consumer & Industrial Products sector, helping clients create value throughout the transaction lifecycle.
As a Manager, you will lead technology M&A engagements from diligence through post-close execution while serving as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders. You will oversee engagement delivery, lead cross-functional teams, manage client relationships, and identify opportunities to expand existing accounts. In addition to client delivery, you will contribute meaningfully to business development, practice growth, recruiting, and the development of the firm's next generation of consultants.
Managers within West Monroe have three primary areas of responsibility:
Client Delivery
- Lead technology due diligence, integration, and carve-out engagements for Private Equity and Corporate Strategic clients throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Manage all aspects of client engagements, including scope, staffing, budgets, profitability, timelines, quality assurance, risk management, and executive reporting.
- Serve as the day-to-day engagement leader for multiple concurrent projects while ensuring high-quality client outcomes.
- Advise senior client stakeholders, including CIOs, CTOs, Technology Operating Partners, and Private Equity deal teams on technology strategy and investment decisions.
- Lead technology due diligence efforts by evaluating enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, software development, cloud environments, data capabilities, and technology organizations to identify risks and value creation opportunities.
- Lead post-close technology strategy and execution efforts, including Day 1 readiness, post-merger integration, carve-outs, Target Operating Model development, product strategy, cloud modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Drive engagement quality by proactively identifying and mitigating delivery, commercial, and project risks while ensuring adherence to West Monroe quality standards.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and improve the quality and efficiency of client deliverables while exercising sound judgment over AI-generated outputs.
- Apply generative AI, automation, and data-driven technologies to develop deeper insights and deliver differentiated outcomes for clients.
Practice Development
- Develop and enhance methodologies, frameworks, accelerators, and reusable assets supporting technology due diligence and post-close technology advisory engagements.
- Drive continuous improvement of technology M&A offerings, delivery methodologies, and AI-enabled consulting capabilities.
- Coach, mentor, and develop consultants and senior consultants through project leadership, performance feedback, and career development.
- Serve as a Career Advisor and actively contribute to the growth and retention of high-performing consulting talent.
- Lead internal initiatives that strengthen the M&A practice, including knowledge sharing, recruiting, training, and solution development.
- Partner with software, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and AI specialists to continue expanding West Monroe's technology advisory capabilities.
- Participate actively in experienced hire and campus recruiting efforts.
Business Development
- Lead and support pursuits for new clients, change orders, and follow-on work within existing accounts.
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through additional technology advisory services across the transaction lifecycle.
- Develop proposals, work plans, pricing estimates, statements of work, and risk assessments for prospective engagements.
- Participate in client presentations, solution development sessions, and pursuit strategy discussions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Private Equity investors, corporate development teams, and strategic technology leaders.
- Represent West Monroe at M&A, Private Equity, and Consumer & Industrial Products industry events while continuing to build the firm's market presence and professional network.
Qualifications
- 6–8+ years of client-facing management consulting, technology consulting, technology M&A, or corporate development experience, preferably serving Private Equity or strategic acquirers.
- Experience leading technology due diligence, post-merger integration, carve-outs, Day 1 planning, or technology value creation engagements.
- Demonstrated experience managing client engagements, including budgets, staffing, timelines, and overall delivery quality.
- Experience serving clients within the Consumer & Industrial Products industry preferred.
- Experience with SaaS, software, enterprise technology, cloud transformation, or technology operating model initiatives.
- Proven ability to build relationships with executive stakeholders, including CIOs, CTOs, Technology Operating Partners, and investment teams.
- Experience supporting business development through proposal development, client relationship management, and opportunity identification.
- Experience coaching and developing consulting team members.
- Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into consulting workflows while applying strong critical thinking to validate outputs and improve delivery.
- Excellent communication, executive presentation, analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 50%. Travel is generally short-term (2–3 days during diligence engagements) with additional travel during post-close execution.

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.

Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.
