The Role:
Our site in Danbury, CT is seeking a Thin Film Deposition R&D Manager to join our team. As a Process Engineering Manager, you will lead our Deposition Process R&D team in our Advanced Deposition Materials business unit. This group screens new precursors for viability and develops new ALD and CVD processes to deposit films which enable the semiconductor industry. You will work closely with the customer-facing applications and marketing teams to introduce new precursor & deposition technologies, increase process efficiency, and capture broader opportunities in the semiconductor industry.
What You'll Do:
Lead a multi-disciplinary process engineering group.
Develop and review experimental plans, analyze data and findings, and generate updates for customers with recommendations for next steps.
Create an environment that encourages innovation.
Coach, train, and develop individuals within the team.
Keep up to date with the latest deposition techniques and technologies, utilizing these to solve industry issues.
Set objectives, communicate expectations, provide directions and priority, and drive accountability.
Develop, modify, and implement processes and procedures in conjunction with the EH&S teams to drive a culture of safety.
Develop capital and resource plans to meet business needs for capacity, technical capability and growth.
Proactively identify improvement opportunities and actively work to implement solutions.
Lead/participate in cross-functional teams with product management, engineering, quality, analytical, and safety to resolve customer issues.
Ensure that the group's research is in line with current industry and internal roadmaps ultimately increasing potential adoption by customers.
What We Seek:
Minimum of a Master's degree in chemical, electrical, mechanical engineering or chemistry.
10+ years of experience in ALD or CVD R&D or Semiconductor Process Engineering.
5+ years of management experience
Knowledge of Semiconductor processes and integration
Experience with utilizing statistical discovery programs for design of experiment creation or data analysis (SAS JMP or others)
Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and continuously develop a team.
Ability to influence decisions across multiple layers of the organization.
Effective communication skills to support a business unit that serves a worldwide customer base.
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
Experience working in cleanrooms.
Hands on experience in running ALD tools and developing new deposition processes
A proven track record of developing an effective team.
Demonstration of ability to achieve and sustain operational excellence.
