Job DetailsWe are seeking an experienced architecture leader to help define how business strategy translates into scalable, connected, and sustainable technology solutions. This position will help shape the organization’s long-term architecture vision while ensuring that current technology decisions support immediate business priorities. You will establish standards, guide target-state planning, advise senior leaders, and partner with architecture, product, engineering, and business teams throughout the transformation lifecycle.
The ideal candidate combines enterprise-level thinking with enough technical depth to evaluate designs, identify risk, and guide informed tradeoffs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can simplify complex environments, connect technology decisions to business outcomes, and influence teams without relying solely on formal authority.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, domain architecture, technology strategy, solution architecture, or senior technical leadership.
- 2+ years of people leadership or matrix leadership experience, including mentoring architects or senior technical professionals.
- Demonstrated success shaping architecture across business, application, integration, and platform domains.
- Experience developing architecture roadmaps, reference architectures, target-state models, principles, standards, and governance practices.
- Ability to create and apply business-architecture artifacts such as capability maps and value streams.
- Experience supporting complex cloud or hybrid technology environments at enterprise scale.
- Working knowledge of application architecture, integration patterns, digital platforms, data ecosystems, and cloud technologies.
- Experience with Azure, Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or a comparable cloud environment.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to explain complex technology decisions in terms of business value, risk, cost, and outcomes.
- Proven ability to influence across business, product, engineering, and technology teams.
- Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, and systems-thinking capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- TOGAF certification, formal architecture training, or a related graduate degree.
- Experience within a complex consumer-facing, multi-location, ecommerce, omnichannel, supply-chain, or retail-related environment.
- Knowledge of customer engagement, personalization, campaign management, MarTech, order management, fulfillment, merchandising, inventory, POS, or store platforms.
- Familiarity with architecture-modeling and visualization tools such as ARDOQ, BizzDesign, Abacus, Visio, or comparable platforms.
- Experience guiding large-scale modernization, platform consolidation, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
- Help define and advance a long-term enterprise architecture vision aligned with business strategy and transformation priorities.
- Establish and promote architecture principles, standards, reusable patterns, and governance practices across application, integration, and platform environments.
- Translate business goals into capability maps, value streams, target-state models, and actionable technology roadmaps.
- Provide architectural leadership across one or more major domains, including digital commerce, customer engagement, - - MarTech, merchandising, supply chain, inventory, logistics, store systems, point of sale, or fulfillment.
- Partner with senior business, product, and technology leaders to evaluate investment priorities, architectural risks, sequencing decisions, and long-term business value.
- Identify opportunities to simplify fragmented technology landscapes, eliminate unnecessary duplication, strengthen interoperability, and reduce technical debt.
- Guide the design of scalable and resilient solutions that support connected customer experiences across digital and physical channels.
- Review proposed solutions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards, target-state direction, security expectations, and operational needs.
- Collaborate with solution architects, domain architects, engineers, product teams, application support, and delivery leaders to maintain architectural intent throughout execution.
- Evaluate emerging platforms and technologies based on business value, technical fit, scalability, risk, and total long-term impact.
- Participate in architecture review boards, steering committees, strategic-planning sessions, and executive-level discussions.
- Advise teams on architectural tradeoffs, integration approaches, platform decisions, and proven design practices.
- Support innovation initiatives, proofs of concept, and pilot programs designed to test new capabilities.
- Improve architecture maturity by strengthening documentation, decision frameworks, governance, and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor architects and senior technical professionals through direct, matrixed, or project-based leadership.
