Position Summary

The Manager of Surgical Services oversees daily operations, patient care, and staff management within the surgical unit. This role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance with healthcare regulations. The Manager will play a key role in strategic planning, process improvement, and staff development within the surgical services department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead nursing and support staff within surgical services, ensuring effective workflow and quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize patient safety, quality care, and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with surgical and medical teams for efficient scheduling and resource utilization.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining accreditation requirements.
  • Facilitate staff training, development, and performance evaluations, fostering a supportive and high-performance environment.
  • Oversee budget management, resource allocation, and supply chain for surgical services.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license, active at the time of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Recent experience in a first-line management role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in surgical services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field.
