Manager, Staffing Operations & Workforce Analytics

Star Pediatrics by Abound Health is seeking a Manager, Staffing Operations & Workforce Analytics to join our team in New Jersey. Reporting to the VP of Nursing Operations, this leader will oversee our Staffing Coordinator team and be responsible for optimizing nurse capacity, improving staffing performance, and ensuring patients receive the nursing coverage they need. This hybrid role will be based out of the office location closest to your residence (Mount Laurel, Howell, or Saddle Brook), with regular travel between all three New Jersey offices as needed.

This role is ideal for a data-driven healthcare operations leader with experience in workforce planning, capacity management, staffing optimization, and process improvement. The successful candidate will leverage analytics, forecasting, and operational insights to identify staffing gaps, improve nurse utilization, reduce open patient care hours, and build scalable processes that support continued growth.

Success in this role will be measured by reductions in open patient care hours, improved staffing efficiency, stronger workforce utilization, and enhanced operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Staffing Coordinators responsible for matching nurses with patient needs and ensuring continuity of care.
• Drive workforce planning, capacity management, and staffing optimization strategies to maximize nurse utilization and minimize open patient care hours.
• Analyze staffing, workforce, and operational data to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop forecasting models, dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools that support data-driven decision-making.
• Partner closely with Nursing Operations, Clinical Leadership, Talent Acquisition, and Operations teams to proactively address workforce supply and patient demand.
• Identify process inefficiencies and lead operational improvement initiatives that increase productivity, scalability, and service delivery performance.
• Establish accountability measures and performance standards for staffing operations.
• Optimize workflows, technology utilization, and workforce management practices to improve overall operational effectiveness.
• Monitor staffing performance metrics and implement action plans to improve coverage, responsiveness, and utilization.
• Support strategic initiatives related to growth, workforce planning, capacity forecasting, and operational excellence.

Qualification Requirements:

• 3+ years of people management experience within the healthcare industry.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams with measurable performance goals, accountability metrics, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated success using data, analytics, forecasting, and operational reporting to drive business decisions and improve outcomes.
• Experience optimizing workforce utilization, reducing service gaps, improving staffing coverage, or increasing operational efficiency.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex operational data and translate findings into actionable solutions.
• Experience developing and monitoring KPIs, dashboards, forecasts, and performance reporting.
• Advanced proficiency with workforce management systems, scheduling platforms, CRM systems, reporting tools, and operational technology.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments.
• Must reside in New Jersey and be able to travel regularly between our Mount Laurel, Howell, and Saddle Brook offices.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required.

Compensation & Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $80,000 - $100,000 annually.

Base pay is determined by factors such as work location, experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay, total compensation may include various other forms of pay. For employees working 30 hours or more on average per week, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive health, dental, and wellness benefits, which begin on your 60th day of employment following first of the month. Additionally, our 401(k) plan becomes available after 6 months of employment and 500 hours worked (Full-time employees only).
