    JOB SUMMARY:

    Supervise and oversee the daily operations, staff, and clinical functions of the Spiritual Care Services department.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Adhere to and establish Spiritual Care Services department goals and objectives consistent with Merrimack Health strategic and operating plans, including the annual operating plan (AOP).
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive continuum of spiritual care services for patients, families, and staff of all faith traditions.
    • Provide human and fiscal management for the department, including active participation in the preparation of annual operating budgets.
    • Plan and delegate work assignments, train, supervise, and evaluate departmental chaplains and support staff.
    • Oversee the scheduling, professional development, and clinical performance of spiritual care team members.
    • Lead regularly scheduled departmental meetings with the spiritual care team.
    • Participate in Department Head meetings, Management Grand Rounds, Mission Integration Committee, and other hospital committees as appropriate.
    • Continually improve and implement departmental policies, procedures, and internal controls.
    • Inform hospital leadership and Administration of departmental performance and strategic initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and denominational requirements, including Ethical and Religious Directives where applicable.
    • Maintain complete departmental records, prepare regular operational reports, and coordinate periodic internal or external audit reviews as required.
    • Maintain professional development, active membership in relevant professional associations, and required ongoing credentials.
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by leadership
