    About the Role

The Manager, Promotions will lead the digital strategy, planning, and execution of Athleta’s promotional business, translating financial goals, customer behavior, and product opportunities into compelling full-site experiences that drive demand, conversion, and profitability.

This role will partner closely with Planning, Merchandising, Marketing, Analytics, and Digital teams to understand business performance and develop creative promotional strategies and customer pathways across key events, offer tiers, and everyday promotional moments. The Manager will own how promotional strategy comes to life across the digital experience—from offer architecture and product exposure to customer journeys, site storytelling, and execution.

The ideal candidate is both commercially minded and executionally strong: someone who can identify an opportunity in the business, develop a strategic response, and lead the team through flawless execution.

    What You'll Do

    • Build the full-site digital promotional strategy across major events, seasonal moments, markdowns, and ongoing promotional activity for US and Canada.

    • Translate financial targets and business performance into actionable digital strategies, identifying opportunities across traffic, conversion, AUR, demand, product mix, and promotional tiers.

    • Develop creative customer pathways and merchandising strategies that connect customers to the right offer, product, and destination based on intent and promotional tier.

    • Partner with Planning, Analytics, Merchandising, and Marketing to evaluate promotional performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to improve financial outcomes.

    • Own the digital promotional calendar and event architecture, ensuring clear strategy and alignment across Site, App, Marketing vehicles, and cross-functional partners.

    • Define the site hierarchy and merchandising approach for key promotional events, including Homepage, navigation, landing experiences, PLPs, PDPs, and promotional messaging.

    • Lead promotional merchandising for major brand events and develop contingency strategies when performance is above or below expectations.

    • Establish a strong test-and-learn agenda, using event and customer learnings to continually evolve promotional strategy and improve conversion.

    • Guide Creative and Brand partners on promotional storytelling, asset requirements, and digital customer needs.

    • Lead site readiness and QA to ensure flawless execution across promotional launches and changes.

    • Lead and develop a team focused on promotions and markdown execution, creating clear ownership while building stronger commercial and analytical capabilities.

    • Own the PDP copy process through cross-functional alignment, strong operational discipline, and AI-enabled tools that improve both speed and quality.

    Who You Are

    • 7+ years of ecommerce, digital merchandising, merchandising, or related experience, with strong experience in promotional and commercial strategy.

    • Strong financial and analytical acumen, with demonstrated ability to translate business performance into customer-facing actions.

    • Proven ability to develop promotional strategies that drive conversion, demand, and profitable growth, not simply execute predetermined offers.

    • Strong understanding of digital customer journeys, merchandising, pricing/promotion, and site experience.

    • Demonstrated ability to lead high-impact seasonal events and complex cross-functional workflows.

    • Ability to move fluidly between strategy and execution, from identifying an opportunity to ensuring the final customer experience is delivered flawlessly.

    • Strong executive communication, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.

    • Experience leading and developing teams.

    About Company

Doris and Don Fisher opened the first Gap store in 1969 with a simple idea -- to make it easier to find a pair of jeans and a commitment to do more. Over the last 46 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with five brands -- Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta and Intermix. Gap's clothes are available in 90 countries worldwide through 3,300 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing. Many companies work to improve their services and businesses every day by using GAP Testers who anonymously go into various places and report back to the companies on everything from cleanliness, customer service to quality control. Being a tester is a very flexible, fun job with lots of benefits.
