Manager Salesforce Development
NY, New York - 2 days per week onsite
Full Time
Salary: $150,000 - $170,000/yr
About the Role
We're looking for a Manager, Salesforce Development to lead and grow a team of four senior Salesforce developers within a nonprofit healthcare environment. This role sits deliberately between a pure hands-on developer and a high-level solution architect you'll need to write code, review code, and stay technically sharp, while also owning the people-leadership side: mentoring, technical direction, and helping the team close capability gaps.
This is an immediate need. The current team lead is transitioning to a different department, and the team while experienced needs someone who can raise their overall technical bar and help them grow into stronger, more well-rounded developers.
What You'll Work On
- Lead and manage a team of four senior Salesforce developers, providing day-to-day technical direction and career mentorship
- Stay actively hands-on in Salesforce development write and review code alongside the team, not just direct it
- Own technical direction for the Salesforce environment, including Sales Cloud, Health Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Experience Cloud
- Guide and contribute directly to the team's active work: evolving the Health Cloud-based contact center CRM application, retiring legacy Salesforce orgs and consolidating into a single modern instance, and supporting the ongoing member and provider portal build-out on Experience Cloud
- Bring an architectural point of view to the organization's broader integration strategy as it scales its API and system connectivity approach
- Improve team development practices and help developers identify and close capability gaps
- Bring current awareness of AI and other emerging developments in the Salesforce ecosystem into the team's approach
- Report initially to Salesforce/engineering leadership as the team's structure is established, with existing developers eventually reporting into this role
What We're Looking For
- Strong, current, hands-on Salesforce development experience candidates who have been away from active development for a year or more are likely not the right fit for this role
- Prior experience managing or leading a software development team, ideally responsible for approximately 3-5 developers
- Genuinely able to operate as both an individual contributor and a people manager this role does not trade coding for management, it requires both, in roughly equal measure
- Salesforce architecture and solution design knowledge, applied practically able to guide the team's technical direction while staying close enough to the code to build alongside them
- Experience with Health Cloud and contact center/CRM implementations is a strong plus; Marketing Cloud and Experience Cloud experience are valued
- A roll-up-the-sleeves, solution-focused mindset, with the ability to translate ambiguous business problems into technical direction for the team
- Awareness of how AI is changing the Salesforce development landscape
