Description
The Manager, Sales Planning and Strategy supports strategic pursuits and builds high-quality media plans to drive growth across Her Campus Media's brand portfolio. This role is responsible for daily pricing and packaging execution within our dual publisher-agency model.
This position is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented media planner looking to manage the end-to-end media planning process in a fast-paced environment. The Manager reports to the Senior Director, Sales Planning and Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Media Plan Creation: Build compelling, executable media plans (spanning digital, social, influencer, on-campus, experiential, and research) for RFPs and proactive pitch opportunities.
- Pre- to Post-Sale Support: Manage media planning milestones from initial brainstorms and proposal creation to Insertion Order (IO) finalization and internal post-sale handoffs.
- Inventory Tracking: Monitor inventory availability across digital, email, social, and influencer platforms to recommend plans that maximize revenue and fill rates.
- Cross-Functional Bridge: Serve as a central connector between Business Development, Edit, and all other teams that touch client services to elevate packaging, optimize service offerings, and boost campaign performance metrics.
- Kick-Off Support: Attend post-sale internal kick-offs to walk execution teams through plan details, strategy, and client expectations.
- System Maintenance: Keep internal trackers, pricing models, and project management platforms accurate and up to date.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on media planning or sales planning experience, preferably within a digital media publisher or agency
- Technical Skills: Excellence in building integrated media plans; proficient in Excel
- Communication & Packaging: Outstanding written and verbal skills, with a talent for translating complex capabilities into clear, high-impact client media plans.
- Organization & Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and an eye for details
- Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Marketing, Media, Communications, or a related field preferred.
