About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

FirstEnergy takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. In addition, your actual base salary will depend on various factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience.

The estimated pay range for this role is $157,590 - $222,480.

The Manager, Rates & Regulatory Affairs position is a critical leadership role responsible for the development and execution of JCP&L''s regulatory strategy and recovery of significant operating and capital investments through approved rates and riders. The position serves as a key interface between the company and external regulatory stakeholders while coordinating cross-functional efforts across Accounting, Finance, Operations, Engineering, Legal, and Customer organizations.

The importance of this role has increased significantly as JCP&L manages a growing capital investment program focused on reliability, resiliency, grid modernization, AMI deployment, storm hardening, and customer-focused initiatives. These programs require sophisticated regulatory strategies, timely cost recovery mechanisms, and comprehensive stakeholder engagement to ensure appropriate recovery and support continued investment in the electric system.

The position provides essential leadership for major regulatory proceedings, including base rate cases, rider filings, cost recovery mechanisms, tariff revisions, and policy initiatives. Failure to maintain dedicated leadership in this area would increase regulatory risk, potentially delay recovery of authorized investments, reduce organizational responsiveness to regulatory requirements, and impair the company''s ability to effectively support strategic business objectives.

Given the complexity of New Jersey''s regulatory environment, the frequency and significance of ongoing regulatory proceedings, and the need to protect both customer and shareholder interests, backfilling this position is necessary to maintain continuity of expertise, preserve key stakeholder relationships, support critical business initiatives, and ensure successful execution of JCP&L''s regulatory and financial objectives. The position also provides vital institutional knowledge and leadership within the Rates & Regulatory Affairs organization and is essential to supporting the company''s long-term strategic and financial plans.
