Who We Are:

Tactical Aerospace is a premier supplier for Avionics/Aerospace grade complex electronic embedded systems. We design, integrate, and manufacture avionics, mission computers, payload electronics, sensors, AI systems, test systems, and modeling/simulation for the defense market. This position will manage the Dayton (Beavercreek), OH office and engineering section. This is a on-site position.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Manage a engineering business section and the Ohio office for the Tactical Aerospace organization.
  • This position is on-site and in the Beavercreek, OH office.
  • Manage the team of engineers/scientists while working with program managers to manage technical and programmatic aspects of all programs within the section.
  • The Ohio office focus is on Neuromorphic Computing AI, Modeling & Sim, Human Factors and UAS/CCV while supporting programs across the Tactical Aerospace organization which includes embedded complex electronics for the aerospace/avionics markets.
  • Grow the business organically through Business Development, marketing, writing proposals and developing estimates for customers.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Manage resources within the department: Performance reviews, keeping resources utilized on programs, hiring, personnel issues, and dealing with office issues/maintenance.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight of supported projects and programs.
  • Manage Internal Research and Design (IRADs) activities within the section.
  • Grow the section through marketing, Business Development, writing proposals, creating estimates, and finding business opportunities.
  • Customer interaction and growth of the Ohio section and Tactical Aerospace is a significant part of the role.
  • Travel will be required.

Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree with related experience.
  • 10+ years: Technical experience with at least 4 years experience as a technical manager/supervisor.
  • Shown experience writing proposals, developing estimates, presenting to/managing customers, and marketing to customers.
  • Basic understanding of AI, modeling & simulation, data science, avionics development, and/or UAV/UAS/Drones.
  • Background in the Aerospace Market is helpful and related to this role.
  • A valid/clear drivers license is required.

Special Requirements:

Work assignment is in Dayton, Ohio. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Mechanical Engineering-Improving safety, reliability, efficiency and life of new or existing mechanical components or systems.
  • Powertrain Engineering-Designing and developing vehicle and engine components to achieve performance and emissions goals.
  • Space Science & Engineering-Developing and managing advanced scientific payloads aboard satellites and sounding rockets.
