    Description

    SUMMARY

    The Manager, Property Damage provides technical and administrative oversight to a team of claim adjusters responsible for adjudicating and settling first-party and liability personal automobile claims.  The responsibilities ensure that all adjuster activity and file handling are consistent with company policies, procedures, and statutory guidelines.   The role will also provide oversight and direction in monitoring attendance, personnel issues, performance evaluations, interviewing, and completing the corrective action process.  

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversees incoming file assignments and workload distribution; ensures appropriate alignment within the team.
    • Reviews claim files for accuracy and compliance with company policy and/or procedures.
    • Provides guidance and direction regarding coverage analysis, liability investigation and determination, bodily injury evaluation, negotiation, and settlement.
    • Ensures the team achieves productivity, quality handling, budget goals, and related KPIs .
    • Effectively handles and resolves consumer complaints; addresses the cause for the complaint.
    • Works with other departments to establish and maintain collaborative relationships toward achieving department and company goals.
    • Provides technical and administrative oversight to a team of claim adjusters responsible for the adjudication and settlement of first-party and liability personal automobile claims.
    • Provides feedback and coaching to drive top performance within the assigned adjusting team. 
    • Supervises staff per company policies and procedures. 
    • Conducts interviews, hires new staff, and provides new employee orientation.
    • Tracks employee goals and conducts employee performance reviews. 
    • Responsible for staff scheduling to include employee vacations, employee breaks, and back-up for absent employees.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
    • Requires a minimum of 3 years of property damage and liability claim handling experience.
    • Excellent time management, organizational, reading comprehension, analysis, and math skills.
    • Well-developed knowledge of claims best practices, processes, procedures, and technology.  
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong leadership ability with proven capability to train, mentor, and develop subordinates for next level roles in the organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to assume additional leadership responsibility as opportunities within the organization may arise.
