    Job Title: Manager of Project Management
    Department: Project Management
    Supervisor: Director of Project Management
     
    Job Purpose:
    The purpose of the Manager of Project Management role is to ensure the seamless execution of client contracts from start to finish. This includes oversight of all project phases for the Managers direct reports. The role demands strong leadership to manage a team of Project Managers, enforce departmental policies, and maintain superior client communication. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for monitoring contract costs and schedules, reporting progress to stakeholders, and engaging in professional development to represent the company in the industry.
     
     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Project Execution: Oversee the entire lifecycle of direct report’s projects, ensuring successful engineering, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and hand over to client support.
    • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manager a team of Project Managers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, while setting clear objectives and performance standards.
    • Policy Enforcement: Enforce and maintain departmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Hy-Tek standards, processes and tools.
    • Communication: Serve as the primary escalation point of contact for clients, ensuring prompt and effective communication to deliver superior client experiences.
    • Reporting: Monitor and report on direct report’s contract costs, schedules, and project progress to stakeholders.
    • Professional Development: Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and mentoring to team members to support their professional growth. Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities, such as attending trade shows and seminars, to enhance industry knowledge and represent the company.
     
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
    • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the Material Handling Industry with a focus on project management.
    • 3+ years of formal or informal leadership roles focused on project management is preferred.
    • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to others.
    • PMP or related certification preferred.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work without direct supervision with a high degree of responsibility.
    • Extensive industry knowledge related to supply chain, logistics, material handling systems, and software such as WMS, WCS, ERP, etc. is preferred.
    • Well-developed verbal/interpersonal skills required to maintain outstanding customer relations as well as inspire trust and confidence while easing tension-filled situations
     
    Working Conditions:
    • Travel to client sites and Hy-Tek offices as needed.
    • Working in office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
    • Working in a stationary position for an extended period.
    • Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels.
