    Summary

    The expectation of this position is to lead and direct a team to achieve pedigree farm objectives. Essential functions include achieving selection targets, maintaining genetic security and purity, promoting a culture of biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety, developing qualified and effective team members, communicating and collaborating on pedigree-related objectives, and producing selection reports.

    Requirements

    Education and Experience

    • College degree or equivalent experience required.

    • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in the field of expertise.

    • Knowledge of farm machinery and operation, water pumps, and wells preferred.

    Accountability

    • Responsible for supervising a team composed primarily of non-exempt team members.

    • Duties include mentoring exempt team members, providing training to non-exempt team members, monitoring work quality, coaching team members on performance, and contributing to team member pay-related decisions and changes.

    • Accountable for the quality of results produced by the team.

    Computer Skills

    • Proficiency in data collection and management using Microsoft Office applications is required.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Supervises a team of hourly team members, including lead positions.

    Travel

    • Minimal domestic travel required.

    Biosecurity

    • The job site is a biosecurity-controlled environment that requires showering before entering the facility and may require multiple showers throughout the workday.

    • Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company.

    • No jewelry may be worn on the job site, except for medical identification jewelry.

    • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with any avian species, including chickens, ducks, and other birds.

    • The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.

    • Must be willing to comply with all Cobb Farm and Hatchery Biosecurity Standards.

    Physical Requirements

    • Must use safe lifting techniques.

    • While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to:

      • Stand, walk, and sit.

      • Use hands to handle, touch, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

      • Reach with hands and arms.

      • Balance and stoop.

      • Talk and hear.

    • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

    • When visiting facilities, team members are expected to follow all required safety procedures and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
