Duties and Responsibilities This position will be responsible for helping manage Energo’s Plumbing & Fire Suppression business unit. Successful candidate must navigate NYC’s strict building and environmental codes. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: - Perform mandated field inspections under NYC Local Law 152, evaluating gas piping systems for code compliance, safety, and regulatory adherence
- Work with Energo staff to schedule, manage, and perform required NYC gas inspections, including preparation and submission of filings, obtaining gas authorizations, and securing final signoffs from the NYC DOB and relevant authorities Conduct gas inspections across residential, commercial, and institutional properties
- Perform gas leak surveys and detection using approved testing methods and equipment
- Respond to the gas shutdown emergencies, evaluate the conditions requiring correction and develop a proposal for the necessary work. Coordinate with the utility company and NYC DOB as required to facilitate the restoration of gas service
- Assist in training other Energo employees to perform and support the gas-related work described herein, with the goal of developing the skills and knowledge necessary to independently perform such work in the future
- Manage and oversee fire suppression division including piping installation, repair, and maintenance projects Coordinate and execute full-service system projects including new installations, system upgrades, repairs, and maintenance
- Coordinate inspections, approvals, and regulatory compliance with NYC DEP, DOB and FDNY
- Oversee gas and fire suppression job progress from planning through completion, ensuring timely completion and regulatory compliance
- Review architectural plans and specifications; coordinate with project teams and subcontractors Manage client relationships, project planning, material procurement and quality control
- Ensure compliance with NYC Building Codes, gas codes and fire codes
- Perform backflow prevention device installation, testing and certification as applicable
- Ad hoc projects and assignments as directed by management
- Attend and complete relevant on-the-job training as required
