Description

As the Manager, Platform Engineering, you will lead the team and own the systems, tooling, and processes that power our internal platform ensuring engineers can ship quickly, safely, and with confidence.

You will be responsible for the reliability, scalability, security, and efficiency of our environments across development, staging and production. You will work closely with product engineering, data, and leadership, contributing to company-level planning and decision-making.

You will guide platform and infrastructure decisions while remaining hands-on, continuously improving the foundations that support everything we build at Geniuslink.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and operate a scalable cloud infrastructure (DigitalOcean, Linode, AWS) to support high availability and performance
  • Own and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, safe, and repeatable deployments across services
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) to standardize environments across development, staging, and production and reduce drift
  • Build, operate, and improve observability systems (metrics, logging, distributed tracing, and profiling) to ensure visibility into system health, performance, and resource efficiency
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem processes; drive improvements to prevent recurrence
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve developer workflows, infrastructure, deployment strategies, and overall reliability, and with the CTO/Chief Architect to align platform capabilities with system design and architectural decisions
  • Establish and enforce best practices for platform, infrastructure, deployment, and operational excellence across teams, treating the platform as a product for internal users
  • Optimize infrastructure costs and resource utilization, making informed tradeoffs with performance, reliability, and development velocity
  • Proactively improve the security posture of our systems by embedding best practices into infrastructure, access controls, and deployment workflows
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of platform engineers, while providing technical leadership and guidance to the broader engineering organization on platform, deployment, and reliability practices
  • Drive improvements to developer experience through better tooling, automation, and workflows, reducing operational toil and enabling faster delivery
  • Lead capacity planning, prioritization, and hiring for the platform function
