Vultr is seeking a Manager, People Operations to play a key role in driving organizational effectiveness, scaling our people programs, and serving as a trusted strategic partner to the business. This is a high-impact role for someone who brings both an enterprise mindset and a genuine passion for supporting people.
You’ll partner closely with leaders across the organization to enhance team performance, guide critical employee lifecycle decisions, and build scalable, data-driven processes that support Vultr’s continued growth. Key Responsibilities
Own the People Operations function, including payroll operations oversight, benefits administration governance, HRIS management, and employee data integrity
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant execution of all payroll and benefits-related processes in partnership with the Sr. Payroll & Benefits Specialist
Serve as operational owner for employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, changes, and offboarding workflows
Monitor operational performance of People systems and workflows, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and efficiency
Provide oversight of bi-weekly payroll operations in partnership with the Sr. Payroll & Benefits Specialist and Finance
Ensure payroll processes are accurate, compliant, and aligned with internal controls and external regulatory requirements
Oversee benefits administration processes and vendor relationships in partnership with brokers and external providers
Support annual open enrollment planning, system readiness, and benefits program execution
Ensure payroll and benefits systems are properly configured, integrated, and maintained
Support performance management processes, talent reviews, and succession planning initiatives
Partner with leadership to strengthen employee engagement and organizational health
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and onboarding teams to ensure a strong candidate and new hire experience
Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of scalable people programs and practices
Own and optimize the HR technology stack (HRIS, payroll systems, benefits platforms, and workflow tools)
Ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency of employee data across all systems
Design, implement, and continuously improve People Operations workflows and automation
Develop reporting frameworks and dashboards to support People Operations visibility and decision-making
Lead system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across 39 states related to payroll, benefits, leave administration, and HR operations.
Monitor employment law changes and implement necessary updates to policies, procedures, handbooks, and HR practices.
Develop, maintain, and update HR policies and the Employee Handbook to ensure legal compliance and alignment with business needs.
Maintain audit readiness for payroll, benefits, HRIS, and employee records through effective controls and documentation.
Identify compliance and operational risks and implement corrective actions to mitigate exposure and maintain data integrity.
Support regulatory filings and reporting requirements, including EEO-1 and other federal and state compliance obligations.
Partner with Finance on payroll reconciliation, reporting, and general ledger alignment
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, People Business Partners, and IT to ensure seamless employee lifecycle execution
Support People Business Partners by ensuring operational infrastructure enables effective employee experience delivery
Provide operational insights and recommendations to People leadership to support scaling decisions
Qualifications
5–7+ years of progressive experience in People Operations, HR Business Partnering, or a related role
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment laws (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP a plus)
Demonstrated experience supporting core HR functions, including performance management, employee relations, payroll, and benefits
Experience managing HR systems (HRIS, payroll, benefits platforms) and improving processes
Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable recommendations
Strong interpersonal and consulting skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to leadership
High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills
Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment preferred
Compensation
$100,000 - $125,000
