Who are we hiring

The Payroll Tax Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of all payroll tax activities across multiple states. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while partnering closely with Payroll, HR, Accounting, and external vendors. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with ADP Smart Compliance and Oracle Fusion and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment.

What will you do

  • Ensure compliance with multi-state and local tax regulations.
  • Monitor tax law changes and assess impact to payroll operations.
  • Manage W-2 processing and year-end tax activities.
  • Review quarterly and annual reconciliations (941, 940, state returns, etc.).
  • Oversee tax account registrations and agency correspondence.
  • Manage integration and data flow between Oracle Fusion HCM, Payroll, and ADP.
  • Partner with HRIS/IT on system enhancements, updates, and testing.
  • Identify automation and process improvement opportunities.
  • Manage payroll tax audits and agency notices.
  • Lead resolution of tax discrepancies and agency inquiries.
  • Perform internal controls reviews and compliance testing.
  • Ensure proper documentation and SOX compliance.
  • Partner with Accounting and Treasury for payroll tax accruals and GL reconciliation.

What do you need to succeed

  • Experience in Cloud payroll tax processing and reporting expertise.
  • BABS degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle HCM or Oracle Fusion.
  • Knowledge of payroll principles and best practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll tax at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Extensive experience using ADP Smart Compliance.
  • Advanced proficiency using Excel.
  • Collaborative in nature.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • A passion for customer service and bringing that to life within the function.

Pay Range $83,000-$150,000 USD
