Manager, Patient Financial Services - HB PB Billing & Follow Up

Remote | Full-Time | 1.0 FTE | Day Shift

Salary Range: $42.06 - $63.10 per hour

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Remote Work Requirements

This position is approved for remote work; however, candidates must:

  • Reside and work within Oregon, Washington, or Alaska.
  • Live within a one-hour driving distance of a PeaceHealth primary hospital campus.
  • Maintain a workspace that supports confidentiality, productivity, and reliable connectivity required for remote leadership responsibilities.
  • Be available for occasional on-site meetings, training, leadership events, or operational needs as required.

About the Role

As the Manager of Patient Financial Services - Commercial Billing, you'll lead a team responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing, reducing barriers in the financial experience, and supporting the financial health of our organization. You'll coach team members, analyze performance trends, improve workflows, and help create an exceptional experience for both patients and internal partners.

You'll have the autonomy to identify opportunities for improvement, implement solutions, and help shape the future of Commercial Billing operations across PeaceHealth.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Commercial Billing team.
  • Create a positive, accountable, and supportive team culture.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop caregivers to achieve their professional goals.
  • Monitor team performance and use data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Improve billing accuracy, efficiency, and overall financial outcomes.
  • Partner with leaders throughout PeaceHealth to optimize revenue cycle workflows.
  • Develop department goals and action plans that support organizational priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with billing regulations, payer requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Participate in strategic projects that enhance revenue cycle performance.
  • Manage department budgets and resource planning.
  • Review operational metrics and implement solutions that improve results.
  • Support education, training, and continuous learning initiatives for team members.
  • Hire, develop, and retain top talent within the department.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of revenue cycle experience within a hospital or health system environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience with responsibility for team performance and development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing Epic revenue cycle applications.
  • HFMA, MGMA, or AHIMA certification.
  • Epic certification within one or more hospital claims functions.

Skills for Success

  • Experience leading teams and developing people.
  • Strong understanding of hospital billing, reimbursement, and revenue cycle operations.
  • Ability to use data and performance metrics to drive results.
  • Experience managing operational budgets and department resources.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and healthcare technology systems.
