The Manager of Operational Improvement will manage, coordinate, and integrate the quality initiatives and process improvement activities to facilitate achievement of organization goals at Nebraska Medicine using Lean/Six Sigma tools, methodologies, and philosophy. This position is responsible for the establishment and monitoring of key business metrics, tracking and review of projects and integration of new process and quality improvement tools. Responsibilities also include the development and implementation of communication plans to facilitate knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma strategy, tools, and business practices across the organization, as well as, identify, leverage, and share best practices with organizational stakeholders. Also inclusive is working collaborative with Director, Quality and Analytics to manage the process improvement teams to identify and develop top performers as potential business/functional leaders for Nebraska Medicine and develop career plans.
Required Qualifications: Manager Operational Improvement
• Minimum of five years of experience utilizing continuous process improvement tools and methods.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare/nursing administration, nursing, industrial engineering, industrial/organizational psychology, organizational development, finance, accounting or related field required.
• Demonstrated competence in Quality Improvement in the healthcare setting required.
• Demonstrated mentoring, coaching, and leadership experience required.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to translate strategic into action plans and synthesize high volume of data, input and metrics into meaningful focus area required.
• Familiarity in using statistical software (i.e. SigmaXL, Minitab) required.
Preferred Qualifications: Manager Operational Improvement
• Prior healthcare clinical or support operations administrator experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Master's degree in related field preferred.
• Compliance and safety knowledge of regulatory agency laws (JCAHO, OSHA, NFPA, EPA, DOT, etc.) and knowledge of industry quality standards preferred.
